Lakewood is off to a hot start this season, boasting a 7-2 record and sitting third in the Northwest Conference standings. The Cougars are the second-highest-scoring team in the conference, averaging over 67 points per game. Bellingham is 5-4 and sixth in league. The Bayhawks have had several close games and will look to have another nail-biter against Lakewood.
The Bayhawks are led by Joe Harward and Kincade Vanhouten. The two of them combine for nearly 30 points and 18 rebounds per game this season.
Western will host its in-state rivals on Saturday for an intense Great Northwest Athletic Conference matchup. The Vikings are 2-1 in the conference and 7-5 overall this season. The Cougars are atop the standings with a 2-0 conference record and are 13-2 overall. Although Central Washington is the higher-ranked team, the Cougars have struggled on the road with a 2-2 record.
The Vikings are averaging nearly 66 points per game, led by Olivia Wikstrom scoring 14.7 points. Wikstrom also leads the team in rebounds (107) and second in 3-point percentage (38.6%).
The Bay Pub/Dry Run will be an all-paces run of 8K. There will also be an abbreviated route of 6.4K and an out-and-back walking group.
Starting at BBay Running, the run will consist of urban and trail running through downtown, South Bay Trail and Taylor Dock. The run will finish at Gruff Brewing where participants can share stories and drink with their peers.
