ST. LOUIS (First Alert 4) — Ranken Tech and Jefferson College students took the first step into seeing what it would be like to work in the natural gas field.
It’s through a two-year educational state apprenticeship. Six students signed up Wednesday during a ceremony at Spire’s St. Louis headquarters.
The Spire Cooperative Education Program prepares the next generation for careers in the natural gas industry helping meet the demand for skilled workers. Since the launch of the program in 2020, Spire has hired nearly 20 co-op students as full-time service technicians.
