Highway Robber leads this week’s list of the highest speed figures after his record-setting win in the Grade 3 Sycamore at Keeneland on Friday.
Trained by Brian Lynch and ridden by Tyler Gaffalione, the 3-year-old gelded son of Hard Spun went 1 1/2 miles on turf in 2:26.08 to win by a nose. He broke the course record of 2:26.35 that had been set by Rebel’s Romance in winning the 2022 Breeders’ Cup Turf.
He earned a 108 Brisnet Speed Rating and a 98 Beyer Speed Figure.
The highest Beyer of the week, 100, went to Cherie DeVaux’s She Feels Pretty for her sixth-length win in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1). John Velazquez rode the 3-year-old Karakontie filly, who has finished in the money in each of her seven career starts.
