2025 Fort Collins-area bucket list
We asked readers on Coloradoan’s social media channels what Fort Collins events/places/things were on their bucket list for 2025. Here’s what they said.
A south Fort Collins gym unexpectedly closed this week.
Zone Athletic Club, 2937 Council Tree Ave., shuttered at the end of the day Wednesday, citing issues with its landlord in a letter posted on its front door.
In that letter, the gym said it had been in “active discussions” to secure a new lease with its landlord, Kimco Realty — a New York-based real estate investment company — for the past three months.
“Unexpected last-minute changes from our landlord forced us into a difficult position that will require us to vacate the building,” according to the letter.
Kimco Realty declined to comment on the club’s closure or closing statement. A call to Zone Athletic Club’s Fort Collins location and an email to the company went unanswered as of Thursday afternoon.
Crunch Fitness, 2211 S. College Ave., will honor Zone Athletic Club memberships and allow former Zone members to work out at its Midtown facility, Tiffany Lawson, one of Crunch’s area managers, confirmed Thursday. After 90 days, Zone memberships are expected to be formally transferred over to Crunch Fitness, Lawson said.
Zone members not interested in moving gyms can email info@peakserve.com to cancel their membership and ask about a membership refund. Members who went to Zone through SilverSneakers or had a Zone membership through their health insurance can speak with someone at Crunch about setting up a membership there, Lawson said.
Crunch Fitness is also exploring options with Kimco Realty to reopen a gym in the former Zone Athletic Club building, the closure letter read and Lawson confirmed.
Zone Athletic Club has other locations in Aurora and Denver’s Cherry Creek neighborhood, the latter of which has temporarily relocated, according to its website.
