COLUMBIA — South Carolina women’s basketball‘s week of celebrations continued on Saturday as the Gamecocks were honored during halftime of the football game against LSU.
South Carolina, who spent Tuesday at the White House with President Joe Biden, was on the field at Williams-Brice Stadium. The team was also featured on ESPN’s “College GameDay,” and coach Dawn Staley was the guest picker for the pregame show.
The Gamecocks were honored for their 2024 national championship win. They defeated Iowa on April 7 and became just the fifth team in Division I women’s basketball history to finish a season undefeated.
Staley sat at the desk with the ESPN crew ahead of the game. She joined former Alabama coach Nick Saban, Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee.
