COLUMBIA — South Carolina football added former Utah State running back Rahsul Faison from the transfer portal on Tuesday.
Faison confirmed the news by reposting a report that he had committed to South Carolina and wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “I’ll be back Saturday (with a heart emoji), let’s do it !!”
Faison is the No. 4 running back in the 2025 transfer portal according to 247Sports transfer rankings. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Faison is ranked No. 60 overall among all positions in the portal.
He rushed 1,845 total yards and scored 13 total touchdowns in two seasons. This season, he had eight touchdowns and 1,109 rushing yards on 198 carries.
Faison started his career at Lackawanna Community College and transferred to Marshall in 2021. He played a year at Snow College in 2022.
South Carolina returns Oscar Adaway III, Jawarn Howell and Matthew Fuller to the running back room in 2025. Coach Shane Beamer loses Rocket Sanders who rushed for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns this season.
Faison averaged 5.6 yards per carry this season for Utah State. Sanders averaged 4.8.
Djay Braswell, a sophomore running back who played six games for the Gamecocks and was a four-star recruit, transferred to Georgia State last month.
