The first full field of the year hops over to Honolulu for the 2025 Sony Open. The PGA Tour field of 144 golfers includes nearly 30 players from last week’s Sentry event in Maui, along with 10 of the top-30 in the world golf rankings. That includes The Sentry winner Hideki Matsuyama, who is the betting favorite to win this week at Waialae Country Club.

Matsuyama tops this week’s PGA power rankings off his record setting performance in The Sentry. Hideki also won the Sony Open at Waialae in 2022.

The field will not include the defending champion Grayson Murray, who tragically passed away in May. His family has set up a foundation in his honor to raise awareness and support of mental health and addiction challenges faced by individuals from all walks of life.
