Saturday afternoon in Knoxville you could say was one of the more crushing losses of the Alabama Crimson Tide’s season up to this point for a variety of different reasons.
For one, not only did Alabama fall to the rival Tennessee Volunteers by a final score of 79-76, but the Crimson Tide fell in a disappointing fashion via a buzzer-beating three-pointer from just inside half court as time expired. Prior to that play occurring, the Crimson Tide also had a lead with under a minute remaining, but made some mistakes down the stretch, none of which were bigger than a costly five-second inbounding call when Alabama had a chance to win it with the last shot.
In addition to that, a loss meant that Alabama officially fell out of contention for the SEC regular season title, which means that another conference rival, the Auburn Tigers, win it outright.
An all-around disappointing finish to a game that could argue was shaping up to be a win for Alabama prior to the game’s final moments, here is a look at some reactions on social media to the Crimson Tide’s defeat at Tennessee.
