A pilot flying to San Carlos made an emergency landing on the Shoreline golf course in Mountain View Saturday evening, and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to a statement from the Mountain View Police Department.
The airplane was flying from Palm Springs on Feb. 22 when it began to experience fuel problems, prompting an emergency landing at Shoreline Golf Links, located at 2940 Shoreline Blvd.
Mountain View police and firefighters were dispatched to the golf course around 6 p.m. and assessed and treated the pilot, who was the sole occupant of the plane, police said.
The FlightAware track log shows the aircraft, a Cessna Skylane, departed Palm Springs at 3:06 p.m. and reached an altitude of 8,400 feet around 4:14 p.m. before gradually descending to 5,000 feet around 5:50 p.m.
The aircraft then quickly lost altitude flying at a speed of more than 150 mph, before decelerating and landing at the golf course at approximately 66 mph, according to the log.
The National Transportation Safety Board will further investigate the incident, police said.
