Skydance Sports has inked an overall deal with the the NFL‘s biggest stars.
The entertainment production studio says that it has signed 2024 NFL MVP Josh Allen to an overall deal, in which the Buffalo Bills quarterback will develop a slate of scripted, unscripted and branded content with the company.
“Josh has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most exciting and skilled players in the NFL,” said Jason Reed, head of Skydance Sports. “Not only is he a uniquely talented player, he is an amazing human being. His vision, determination, and creativity make him a force off the field as well as on, and we are thrilled to be partnering with him as be builds his business outside of the game.”
“I’m excited to partner with a world class organization like Skydance Sports to further my creative ambitions through storytelling,” adds Allen. “Utilizing my platform to do good and be good is very important to me, and Skydance is an excellent partner, who can help me achieve this goal, through the creation of compelling content that aims to inspire.”
Skydance Sports was formed in 2022 as a joint venture between Skydance, David Ellison’s entertainment studio, and the NFL. The studio is meant to expand the league’s push into entertainment, partnering with teams and athletes to develop scripted and unscripted films and series that touch on the world of sports.
The studio’s projects have included Air; the Hallmark holiday movie Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, Aaron Rodgers: Enigma for Netflix, They Call it Late Night with Jason Kelce on ESPN and the upcoming docuseries America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys.
The addition of Allen, who is still in the prince of his playing career (he is also engaged to actress Hailee Steinfeld), gives it a big name to build franchises off of, even if the specifics on what projects he wants to pursue remain opaque for now.
Allen is represented by CAA.
