COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John’s golf was ranked No. 12 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 poll released today (Friday, Aug. 30).
Methodist (N.C.), which won its NCAA Division III men’s golf-record 14th national championship in May, received six of the 11 first-place votes to earn the No. 1 ranking with 264 points. Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) picked up three first-place votes and 259 points at No. 2. Emory (Ga.) was next at No. 3 (250 points), followed by Oglethorpe (Ga.) at No. 4 (two first-place votes and 246 points) and Illinois Wesleyan at No. 5 (227 points).
The Johnnies was 12th with 136 points. Bethel was three spots behind in 15th (106 points), while Wisconsin-Eau Claire was 22nd (41 points) and Gustavus Adolphus was 25th (30 points). Carleton received votes (six points).
