Should the NBA go back to drafting players right out of high school? The topic has come up again in the NBA media sphere, as it tends to do every few years, and it has some proponents popping up in familiar corners for fans of the Boston Celtics. Former Celtics floor general Jeff Teague has an opinion on this sometimes contentious topic, and he got into the minute details of it on a recent episode of his “Club 520” podcast.
His argument that NCAA stars like Ace Bailey of Rutgers, Cooper Flagg of Duke, and AJ Dybantsa of Brigham Young University ought to be able to play against the very best talent in the world, and that the league was better off when superstars like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Kevin Garnett were able to make the leap directly to the Association.
