Should the NBA change the 3-point rules because of the Boston Celtics? There has been some chatter around the league to that effect after the Celtics’ hot start, with their 3-point-fueled barrage a major factor in that early success. Is Mazzulla Ball (as Boston’s triple-focused offense tends to be called) such an outlier in terms of what has come before from teams playing behind the arc that such drastic action is needed to fix the situation?
Or is this simply a knee-jerk reaction to a style of play that outdates this version of the Celtics by nearly a decade with the Golden State Warriors (and arguably even earlier elsewhere)?
