This year, Christmas Eve falls on a Tuesday and Christmas Day on a Wednesday. The weeks leading up to the holiday are likely to be busy enough for those looking for that perfect surprise and culinary masterpiece to dazzle this winter’s festivities – never mind those last few days.

Most Knoxville businesses will be closed on Christmas Day, and many could be closing earlier than usual the night before, so last-minute shoppers should be aware of those holiday hours (or lack of hours).

What stores will be open on Christmas Day in Knoxville?

By Christmas Day, your options for absolute-last-minute gifts or grocery shopping will be severely limited, with many national chains including Walmart, Kroger, Target, Aldi, Costco and Publix closed on the holiday.

Many CVS stores will be open on Christmas, but call your local store to check on whether they are open and if they’re on regular or reduced hours.
Most Walgreens stores will be open regular operation hours on Christmas Day, but it is recommended to call your local store for any modifications.
The Save A Lot on Broadway will be open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Christmas Day, with the option to close at 5 p.m. if people aren’t shopping.
