Shop fireworks ahead of New Year’s Eve for events throughout the year
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – Monday may be a more proactive choice for shoppers in the market for New Year’s Eve fireworks.
Shopping a day early ensures higher chances of getting the best fireworks assortments.
Although Jeff Tate, owner of Tate’s Fireworks, says New Year’s Eve and Fourth of July are his best days for sales, fireworks can accompany any celebration if shopping is done ahead of time.
“Now, what’s important to know, and not a lot of people realize, is that you can shoot fireworks all year round, but it’s a felony for me to sell fireworks starting January 3rd. So, the two seasons that I can sell fireworks are June 15th-July 5th, and then December 5th through July 2nd. So January 3rd, I have to lock my doors until June,” says Tate.
Tate suggests buying now if there is a birthday, wedding, or other event that customers may want fireworks for throughout the year.
Fireworks can be shot year-round in Lauderdale County.
