AKRON, Ohio — A 21-year-old man was found dead Sunday afternoon after a shooting at a park in the North Hill neighborhood, police say.
Details on what led to the shooting at Patterson Park on the 600 block of Lucille Avenue were not released Sunday, but police say at least on vehicle, possibly an SUV, was seen leaving after an unknown suspect fired multiple shots.
The shooting was reported at about 3 p.m. When police arrived, they found the victim unresponsive in a grassy area near basketball courts in the park. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say more than a dozen rifle casings were among the evidence collected at the scene.
