Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders fueled speculation about a potential future NFL landing spot on Friday.
Sanders shared an Instagram story from Las Vegas while he was driving by Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders. He captioned the story “legendary.”
The Raiders are currently 2-10 and in the running for a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Sanders currently projects as one of the top quarterbacks available in the draft class.
Sanders had an excellent senior season with Colorado, throwing for 3,926 yards with 35 touchdowns and just eight interceptions. He helped the Buffaloes improve from 4-8 in 2023 to 9-3 in 2024 and the team will soon return to a Bowl Game for the first time since 2020.
Poor quarterback play has contributed to the Raiders’ struggles this season. Veteran Gardner Minshew saw the majority of snaps, throwing for 2,013 yards with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions prior to a season-ending broken collarbone. Backup Aidan O’Connell has thrown for 795 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions.
Adding a rookie quarterback like Sanders could be an intriguing option for a Raiders team with some talent, namely rookie tight end Brock Bowers. Given Sanders’ strong production and his possible excitement about playing in Las Vegas, it could be a solid fit.
