Serena Williams is clapping back. The tennis legend shut down accusations that she bleaches her skin during a live Instagram video on Monday, Dec. 2, after rumors circulated online following a video she posted with her family. “And then I put just that neutral color, that is actually my skin color, and no, for you haters out there, I do not bleach my skin,” the 23-time Grand Slam champion said as she did a makeup tutorial using her Wyn Beauty products. She continued, “There is a thing called sunlight, and in that sunlight, you get different colors.” The star athlete also shared that the viral video in question which sparked the social media speculation was of her volunteering at her daughter’s play where she had stage makeup on. She then addressed her critics head on. “Yes, I’m calling you out on this because it is ridiculous,” she said. The 43-year-old went on to add that she is proud of who she is and how she looks. “I’m a dark, Black woman, and I love who I am, and I love how I look,” she said.
