Who wants to watch Disney princess movies when you could watch Tay-princess instead? That seems to be Serena Williams’ 7-year-old Olympia’s logic, at least. The retired tennis pro, who shares Olympia and 1-year-old daughter Adira with husband Alexis Ohanian, just revealed that Olympia has outgrown her princess obsession and is now all about real-life superstar Taylor Swift instead!
When journalist Kara Swisher asked Williams if her eldest daughter like Disney’s Frozen at the INBOUND conference on Thursday, the Olympic gold medalist admitted that she didn’t anymore. “She’s not into princesses, she’s into Taylor Swift,” Williams said per Us Weekly. She added, “I am, too.”

Serena Williams and Olympia are Swifties?! That is so cute! I can just picture Olympia singing and dancing along to Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour on Disney+, making friendship bracelets, and maybe even shaking it off in the car on the way to school — right along with her mom. It’s so fun when your kids grow up and share the same interests as you, although it can make you a little nostalgic too.
Things have certainly changed since a 2022 interview, where Williams opened up about her then-4-year-old’s love of princesses on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “Her ambition is playing princess games,” she said. “She loves princess games and the more we can play anything with princesses, that’s her whole life.”
Olympia turned 7 at the beginning of September, which the family celebrated in New York City. “Beautiful weekend with our SEVEN year old Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. 🥹” the Reddit co-founder wrote on Instagram. “My heart is full. We got to celebrate the final days of being six in Papa’s birthplace. 🗽 @olympiaohanian your mama and I love you more with every passing year. My life changed September 1, 2017 🙏 thank you.”
The Wyn Beauty founder also shared her fears about her daughters growing up in a “scary world” at yesterday’s conference. “It’s a digital world for kids right now. I’m always on with my daughter, but we don’t allow her on certain platforms,” she said, adding, “I’m trying to think positively. I feel like we might try to take it slow with her and go a little bit slower with electronics, and just let her be a kid for as long as you can.”
It’s good advice for all of us!
