After teasing it throughout, Kendrick Lamar finally launched into ‘Not Like Us’ towards the end of his set and the crowd went wild after seeing Serena Williams having the time of her life dining to the Drake diss track. Serena Williams also posted a behind-the-scenes video and pictures of herself getting ready backstage with the caption, “Let’s go Super Bowl halftime??! I died a little!” Then after that, in a separate video clip, Serena could be heard saying, “Man, I did not Crip Walk like that in Wimbledon. Ooo! I would’ve been fine!”

During the 2012 London Olympics, Serena clinched a gold medal in the singles event. However, more than her historic triumph, her crip walk in front of the crowd at the All England Club after defeating Maria Sharapova in the gold medal match stole the show. What is a crip walk, though?

Well, the crip walk has been a part of California’s pop culture, but, at times it has received a bit of criticism for several reasons. When asked about the origin of this dance in 2012, Serena said, “I don’t know. I don’t think I ever danced like that. I don’t even know where the dance came from. It’s just a dance we do in California, I’d say, West Coast. Actually, there is a name, but, I don’t know, it’s inappropriate.” Serena was heavily criticized at that time for her crip walk. The LA Times sports journalist, Bill Plaschke said, “Serena C-walking at Wimbledon only shows how long she’s been away from home, separated from violence and death associated with that dance.”

There were several rumors about Serena Williams and Drake’s relationship in the past. Drake even took a jab at Serena’s husband, Alexis Ohanian in his 2022 track, ‘Middle of the Ocean.’ Seeing Serena Williams showcase her dance moves to a Drake diss track in a blue tennis skirt and a matching top was an eye-catching moment for sure!

It was not only Serena Williams’ surprise cameo during Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show that caught he eyes, but her gorgeous look turned heads at the mega event as well. Her beautiful blonde curls were literally a showstopper!

Speaking about that, Serena Williams’ longtime hairstylist, Angela Meadows said, “We wanted a statement style that would be a showstopper for Serena’s surprise dance moment with Kendrick Lamar but also hold up against the wind and humidity for the big game.”

However, Williams wasn’t the only superstar cameo during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show. Samuel L. Jackson was there as well, dressed as Uncle Sam, as he served as a master of ceremonies for the show.

Serena didn’t like the booing at all, as she quickly came to Taylor’s support with a post on X. “I love you @taylorswift13 Don’t listen to those booo!!” the 23-time Grand Slam winner posted.
