One of Clemson’s stout defensive linemen has closed his time in college and is ready to embark on the next chapter of his football career.
Senior defensive tackle Payton Page officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft in a social media post Tuesday, while thanking the Clemson family with a heartful message:
“I want to start out by thanking the Clemson family. From my current and former coaches to all the staff and my teammates, you have helped me grow as a person and a player.
“To my family, words cannot express the honor it was to share these past four years with you. I love and thank you for your unwavering support – every moment has been a treasure.
“A heartfelt thank you to the fans; your support has been a vital part of this journey, making every game unforgettable.
“As this door closes, I am officially declaring for the NFL Draft. I’m excited for the next chapter and look forward to what lies ahead!
“Go Tigers!”
A third-team All-ACC selection in 2024, Page posted 31 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a half-sack, one pass breakup, and an interception that he returned 57 yards for a touchdown against The Citadel. The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder started all 14 games for the Tigers this season.
Page, a former consensus four-star prospect from Dudley High School in Greensboro, N.C., entered the 2024 season credited with 33 tackles (4.0 for loss), a pass breakup, two fumble recoveries and a blocked field goal in 527 defensive snaps over 39 career games from 2021-23.
