TOPEKA — It was another busy week of high school sports in the Topeka-area. The postseason has begun for wrestling while swimming and basketball are nearing the latter parts of their season, too.
Here are the top performances from the Topeka area from Feb 3-Feb.8.

Yosvani Cruz, Hayden swimming: Cruz won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:17.44 in the Emporia hosted meet.
Peyton Holmes, Seaman swimming: Holmes won the 100-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle at the Emporia High Invite. He was also a part of Seaman’s 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle that took first place.
Jeremiah Moylan, Seaman swimming: Moylan took the individual title of the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle while also being a part of the Vikings’ winning 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay team at the Emporia Invite.
Dawson Blankenship, Topeka High swimming: Blankenship won the 100-yard butterfly with a. 59.97 at the Bonner Springs Invite.
Isaiah Kelley, Highland Park basketball: The forward had a big performance for the Scots putting in 12 points in the team’s 54-30 win over Kansas City Washington.
Lucas Marichal, Cair Paravel basketball: Marichal had a team-high 19 points and 7 rebounds in the Lions’ 61-50 win over Maranatha Christian Academy.
Cameron Miller, Rossville basketball: Miller scored a team-high 13 points in the team’s narrow 61-60 win over St. Marys.
Deondre Razzano, Silver Lake basketball: The senior scored a team-leading 14 points to give Silver Lake a 48-36 win over Holton.
Jarrett Sanchez, Shawnee Heights basketball: The senior eclipsed 1,000 career points after defeating Turner 95-47.
William Toland, Topeka High swimming: Toland hit the wall first winning the 200-yard freestyle with a 2:21.87 in the Bonner Springs Invite.
Richard Lara, Topeka West diving: Lara won his home invite with a score of 134.15 in the one meter diving competition.
Luke Lemke, Washburn Rural swimming: Lemke came out on top as the winner of the 200-yard IM with a 2:13.97 at the Topeka West Invite.
JaCorey Robinson, Highland Park basketball: The senior scored a game-high 33 points in the Scots’ 67-50 rivalry win over Topeka West.
Judah Congdon, Cair Paravel basketball: With the Lions dealing with foul trouble, the sophomore played the final two minutes of the game. They were Congdon’s only time on the court and he provided a spark with two key defensive rebounds, an offensive rebound and an and-one basket to lift Cair Paravel over Mission Valley 63-53.
Jack Donovan, Rossville basketball: The sharp shooting guard finished with 19 points in Rossville’s 69-56 win over Sabetha.
Drew Fay, Cair Paravel basketball: Fay scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in their 53-21 win over Marais des Cygnes.
Bryer Finley, Seaman basketball: The senior scored a game-high 24 points in Seaman’s 69-41 win over Turner. He scored 13 points alone in the third quarter of action.
Simon Rowley, Washburn Rural basketball: The junior poured in 21 points to help the Junior Blues take down Topeka High 79-41. All 12 players on Washburn Rural’s roster scored points in the win.
Mikey Williams, Highland Park basketball: The senior guard scored a game-high 20 points in the Scots’ dismantling of Wyandotte 81-14.
Easton Broxterman, Washburn Rural wrestling: The senior went 4-0 in the Centennial League Championship with three pins and a technical fall. He helped the Junior Blues take second place in the team race.
Nick Davis, Topeka High wrestling: The senior picked up his 100th career victory in the Centennial League Championship. Davis went 4-0 with wins in each dual.
Carter Spreer, Silver Lake wrestling: Spreer won his home invitational in the 215-pound weight class with a 3-0 record, all of his finishes coming via pin.
Samson Tootle, Seaman wrestling: The senior took the United Kansas Conference title in the 175-pound division. He won his title bout with a 10-1 major decision while his first two matches finished via pin.

Karsyn Hastert, Cair Paravel basketball: The forward tied a game-high 12 points in the Lions’ 39-31 win over Maranatha Christian Academy.
Ahsieryrhuajh Rayton, Topeka High basketball: The sophomore guard dropped 20 points in Topeka High’s 65-29 win against Emporia High.
Maddie Vickery, Washburn Rural basketball: The sophomore dominated in all facets scoring 30 points in Washburn Rural’s 61-42 win over Blue Valley.
Pearmella Carter, Highland Park basketball: Carter led the Scots to a 50-34 win over Topeka West with a game-high 23 points.
Kailyn Hanni, Silver Lake basketball: The junior helped Silver Lake get back into the win column with a 50-27 win over Holton. Hanni scored a team-high 13 points.
Gracie Hayes, Washburn Rural basketball: Hayes scored a game-high 22 points in their 78-9 win over Junction City.
Madelyn Wonnell, Rossville wrestling: Wonnell won the Big East League Championship in the 145-pound weight class with four pins as she dominated.
Tenly Bunck, Washburn Rural: The guard couldn’t miss in the first half against Topeka High. She scored 11 total points with all of them coming in the second quarter as the Junior Blues defeated Topeka High 65-44.
Rylee Dick, Rossville basketball: The junior scored 16 points in Rossville’s win 44-39 over Sabetha.
Hailey Schmidtlein, Hayden basketball: The freshman went off for 25 points in the Wildcats’ 61-14 win against Junction City.
Emmerson Blanco, Washburn Rural wrestling: Blanco went 4-0 in the Centennial League with four straight pins highlighted by a finish in nine seconds.
Taylie Heston, Seaman wrestling: The senior claimed the United Kansas Conference crown in the 120-pound weight class after going 2-0.
Karley Holmes, Silver Lake wrestling: Holmes won the 110-pound division of the Silver Lake Invitational. Holmes went 4-0 with three pins and a technical fall.
Reece Taylor, Shawnee Heights wrestling: Taylor was one of four Thunderbirds to win an individual United Kansas Conference title. Taylor won the 125-pound division with three straight pins.
