Securing seasonal jobs in 2024 may prove more challenging due to intense competition as searches for temporary positions have reached their highest levels in recent history, according to data from Indeed. Indeed talent strategy advisor Kyle M.K. joins Wealth! to provide insights into this trend.
M.K. identifies the retail sector as the primary driver of seasonal job growth. Other rapidly expanding categories include tanker drivers, restaurant staff, snow plow operators, and inventory associates.
“Although it seems a bit odd, it doesn’t seem to be too surprising,’ he tells Yahoo Finance, noting that individuals getting seasonal positions are looking for anything ranging from supplemental income to just a side hustle.
