The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the NFL’s first regular-season game in Dublin, Ireland in 2025, the league announced earlier this week. It will be played at Croke Park Stadium, Ireland’s principal national stadium. Pittsburgh’s opponent hasn’t been revealed yet.
As our Kole Musgrove covered, it could be the Seattle Seahawks. The Steelers are considered the designated home team for the Ireland game. The Seahawks are one of Pittsburgh’s nine road opponents for the 2025 campaign. Further narrowing the scope, it’s unlikely the league makes the Steelers play their home game versus the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, or Cleveland Browns overseas.
The Steelers are the designated home team for this game and the Seahawks are scheduled to play Pittsburgh on the road next season, so they’re one possible opponent. https://t.co/f7lit38Wxx

The Steelers also have home games versus familiar AFC opponents such as the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and Indianapolis Colts. The Seahawks are one of Pittsburgh’s three home NFC opponents, joining the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. If the league prefers to put an inter-conference game overseas, the Seahawks become far more likely to be the opponent.
The Steelers and Sehawks have played 21 contested contests. Pittsburgh currently leads the all-time series 11-10. They last met on New Years Eve, 2023, with the Steelers prevailing 30-23. The Seahawks have lost two consecutive contests to Pittsburgh, losing 23-20 in overtime during the 2021 season.
The Seahawks last played a regular-season contest overseas in 2022. They were defeated 21-16 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. Nearly 70,000 international fans attended that contest. The Seahawks could now make their Ireland debut in 2025. Would you make the trip?
