A late-summer or fall getaway is now possible without breaking the bank.
Spirit Airlines recently discounted hundreds of flights to popular destinations such as Las Vegas, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and more. The low-cost carrier advertised the fare sale on their “Popular Flight Deals” section of their homepage, where travelers can enter in their home airport to find the best deals for them.
As part of the popular deals, Travel + Leisure spotted deep discounts for under $29 including Dallas (DFW) to Las Vegas (LAS) for $22 one-way in August, and Baltimore, MD (BWI) to Orlando, FL (MCO) for $21 in September 2024.
Additional flight deals include:
Surprisingly, there is even a one-way $10 flight from Orlando, FL (MCO) to Chicago (ORD) on August 16, 2024.
Spirit Airlines has been facing economic turbulence, as reported during their most recent earnings on August 1. The airline said they would be putting cost control measures in place such as a suspension of recruiting new pilots and flight attendants, and furloughing several hundred pilots.
“Summer demand remains robust and load factors have been strong; however, significant industry capacity increases together with ancillary pricing changes in the competitive environment have made it difficult to increase yields, resulting in disappointing revenue results for the second quarter of 2024,” Spirit Airlines President and CEO Ted Christie said in the release.
The airline recently announced a over haul to their fare classes starting August 16, with new bundled pricing offers such as “Go Savvy” fare class which includes one carry-on or checked bag, plus advanced seat selection.
