Air Astana has officially signed a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, effective November 26 November 2024, enhancing connectivity between the two airlines and expanding travel opportunities for passengers. The partnership enables Air Astana’s passengers to access Etihad Airways’ global network with seamless connections via Abu Dhabi, unlocking travel to a range of key destinations across the Middle East and India.
Under the new codeshare agreement, Air Astana passengers will benefit from easy connections to Etihad Airways’ flights to cities including Mumbai, Riyadh, Dammam, Bahrain, Cairo, Doha, Kuwait City, and Muscat. These cities represent vital travel hubs for both business and leisure travelers, opening up new routes to some of the most sought-after destinations in India, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman.
Air Astana’s direct flights from Astana, launched in late October, and the upcoming direct service from Almaty, starting December 5, 2024, will serve as the key points for these connections. Passengers flying on Air Astana will be able to book a single ticket, enjoy simplified check-in procedures, and benefit from seamless baggage transfers between the two airlines. This streamlined process aims to enhance the overall passenger experience, offering greater convenience and flexibility for travelers.
Zhanna Shayakhmetova, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Air Astana, expressed excitement about the new partnership, highlighting the airline’s commitment to providing exceptional travel options while maintaining the highest standards of service. Air Astana has now signed codeshare agreements with eight airlines worldwide, solidifying its position as a key player in global air connectivity.
With this collaboration, both airlines are well-positioned to serve travelers seeking expanded international routes, further strengthening their presence in the competitive global aviation market.
