The public and active-duty military are invited to tee-off at the City of Santee’s second annual Heroes Golf Classic Tournament.
This event takes place on Thursday, Feb. 13 at Carlton Oaks Golf Course, par 72, located at 9200 Inwood Drive, Santee. Check-in time is 8 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
The tournament is a four-player best ball scramble format, and all funds raised will support the City of Santee’s adopted military members’ annual birthday ball. Proceeds will go toward costs such as childcare during the ball and subsidized costs for ball attendees. The annual birthday ball is an important tradition and a highlight event of the year for active-duty military service members and the City of Santee wishes to increase access to this memorable event for its adopted military members.
The tournament offers an opportunity for players to meet local military members while enjoying a round of golf. Tickets are offered at $125 for the public and $100 for veterans. If your golf game isn’t up to par but you still want to support the event, you can sponsor an active-duty player to play.
This fundraising event is a day for the public and active-duty military to mingle and enjoy a beautiful day at the golf course. Guests can engage in a golf tournament, mini contests, enter in an opportunity drawing and interact with resource booths. Participants will enjoy breakfast on the patio and lunch. The tournament winner receives a free foursome of golf at Carlton Oaks Country Club.
Local businesses are welcome to support their local military unit by sponsoring a hole or the event. With an attendance of up to 136 players, sponsors will have opportunities to post branded signage, interface with the players and pass out merchandise.
Prospective sponsors are encouraged to reach out to Bree Osborne, marketing manager at [email protected] or (619) 258-4100 x218 for more information.
