The Saints visit the Chiefs in this week’s installment of MNF, and we’re expecting a lower scoring affair with key injuries plaguing the home team.
Kansas City scored just 17 points in last week’s win over the LA Chargers. The absence of Rashee Rice (ACL) and Isiah Pacheco (fractured fibula) is clearly hindering KC’s ability to flourish on offense.
New Orleans has dropped two straight games, but the Saints are 2-0 ATS in road games this year. Can Alvin Kamara keep up his torrid pace against a good Kansas City defense?

The Chiefs are consensus 5.5-point favorites with the total set at 43.
Kansas City coach Andy Reid is unsure whether Pacheco will return this season after undergoing surgery for a fractured fibula. The Chiefs signed Hunt to the practice squad in the wake of his injury.
Hunt made an immediate impact in his first game against the Chargers last week. He rushed for 69 yards on a team-high 14 carries. Expect Hunt to clear this number comfortably against the Saints.
Kansas City has a stout defense up front with Chris Jones leading the way. While Kamara might be limited running between the tackles, he’s equally effective in catching short passes out of the backfield.
Kamara leads the Saints with 362 rushing yards and five TDs on the ground, but he’s also piled up 174 receiving yards — including a 57-yard TD on a shovel pass against Dallas.
Mahomes is on pace to have a career low in passing yards this season. The impact of losing Rice and not having Hollywood Brown to start the season are obvious factors. There’s just not as many downfield options available.
Declining TE Travis Kelce has struggled most of the season, and explosive rookie Xavier Worthy doesn’t produce on a consistent basis with just 38.5 receiving yards per game.
Mahomes has thrown for 250+ yards just once this season, and that was in the season opener against Baltimore. He’s been limited to six passing TDs versus five interceptions so far. Fade him in this spot.
Hunt showed he was game-ready in last week’s win over the Chargers. With another week of practice and settling into KC’s offense, it’d be no surprise to see him get his first TD of the season.
It’s hard to forget that Hunt led the Browns with nine rushing TDs last season. It appears there’s plenty left in the tank if he’s forced to assume No. 1 RB duties with Pacheco possibly out for the year.
