Scenes from Rutgers football’s Senior Day walk
Rutgers football on Wednesday continued to bolster its defensive line production by adding Ohio transfer defensive end Bradley Weaver.
The 6-foot-4, 262-pound Weaver is coming off a strong season for the Bobcats in the Mid-American Conference, piling up 44 tackles (15.0 for loss) with 8.5 sacks. Weaver had five tackles and one sack against Syracuse, Ohio’s lone Power 4 opponent, in the teams’ season-opener.
Weaver, who has one year of eligibility remaining, visited Wisconsin and Indiana in addition to Rutgers but ultimately picked the Scarlet Knights.
Improving their pass rush heading into 2025 was a key priority for Rutgers, and it’s done that with the addition of Weaver and James Madison transfer edge rusher Eric O’Neill, who had 13 sacks this season.
By adding O’Neill and Weaver, Rutgers added two players who ranked Top 25 in sacks this season − O’Neill was sixth and Weaver 21st.

Weaver will face his former team on Aug. 30 at SHI Stadium in Rutgers’ season opener.
