PISCATAWAY – The much-anticipated debut of Rutgers basketball freshman Ace Bailey appears to be on track for tonight.
The 6-foot-10 wing, who is a lock be a top-five pick in June’s NBA Draft, is expected to play against Monmouth, according to Rivals.com.
Bailey missed the Scarlet Knights’ first two games after suffering a hip injury in practice. He made a splash in their preseason exhibition loss to St. John’s, tallying 25 points and five rebounds.
The team has missed Bailey’s rebounding in particular, having gotten outrebounded on the offensive glass during wins over Wagner and Saint Peter’s thus far.
Rutgers (2-0) tips off against Monmouth (0-3) at 6:30 p.m. at Jersey Mike’s Arena.
