The Swedish golf concept RUFF Golf is expanding into France through a new master franchise agreement with DEM Management SA, led by European entrepreneur David Maus. The plan is to open five RUFF facilities, including a flagship facility, within the next five years. The expansion marks an important step for RUFF towards becoming a leading player in golf entertainment in Europe
DEM Management SA has acquired the master franchise rights for the Swedish golf concept RUFF Golf in France. European entrepreneur and DOMA GOLF owner David Maus is the CEO of DEM Management SA, but his associate Sacha Kalenitchenko will run the French franchise business. The agreement means that DEM Management SA now owns the master franchise rights for RUFF in France for ten years and will take on the role of franchisor in the territory.
‘France is a strategically important market for RUFF, and this partnership is a significant step towards our vision of becoming the number one player in golf entertainment in Europe. David Maus and Sacha Kalenitchenko have extensive experience in both the golf industry and in operating in the French market, which gives me great confidence in their ability to make RUFF a success in France’ says Alex Bengtsson, CEO of RUFF Golf.
There are plans to open five RUFF facilities in France over the next five years. DEM Management SA has already started talks with potential franchisees in the market and the first site is expected to be ready by the end of 2025. It also expects to open a flagship facility that will include all the elements of the RUFF concept, i.e. the latest simulator technology, lounge with restaurant and bar, custom fitting of clubs and mini golf.
RUFF Golf already has 18 facilities in Europe and eleven in Sweden through a franchising arrangement. All RUFF Golf’s facilities are equipped with the latest technology from Trackman.
Alex Bengtsson continues ‘Simulator golf is still a relatively new concept in several European countries, but the potential for growth is huge. We see an ever-growing interest in golf and new ways to both play and socialise, which is at the heart of what we offer with RUFF. Our ambition is to revolutionise golf and make it more accessible to everyone.’
