Roseburg Police cited a woman for the alleged theft of shopping carts on Thursday.
An RPD report said at 3:45 p.m. the 34-year-old was contacted at Deer Creek Park in the 500 block of Northeast Stephens Street. Her camp had two shopping carts. Officers had warned the woman in the past that if she was in possession of shopping carts off of store property, she would be charged with theft.
The woman couldn’t explain how long the carts had been in her camp and stated they were placed there by her boyfriend, who wasn’t there. She was cited for two counts of second-degree theft and was released. The carts were transported to the Parks Department.
