ROSEBURG, Ore. — A man and woman were cited for theft after police say they were found with shopping carts – and it wasn’t the first time.
According to the Roseburg Police Department, the pair were found camped out Thursday near the north entrance to Sportsman’s Warehouse on NW Stewart Parkway.
They were in possession of two shopping carts, one belonging to Marshall’s and one to Walmart.
“Both were previously warned by the Roseburg Police Department that if they were contacted off of store property with shopping carts, they would be charged with theft,” RPD stated.
The man and woman were both cited and released on scene for Theft II, as the Walmart cart was valued at $425, RPD said.
The carts were taken to the Parks Department where they were placed with other carts belonging to the stores.
Both suspects were also trespassed from Sportsman’s property.
