While uncertainty looms over Rohit Sharma’s participation in the Perth Test, a poster of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy aired by Fox Cricket – the official broadcaster of the series – has sparked fresh furore on social media. On Sunday, when Australia locked horns with Pakistan in the third and final ODI in Perth, the broadcasters teased the poster of the much-awaited Test series, featuring Virat Kohli alongside Aussie captain Pat Cummins.
Kohli’s presence in the poster could be possibly due to his exploits Down Under. In 13 matches played in Australia, the former Indian captain has scored 1352 runs at an average of 54. He has also scored 6 hundreds and four half-centuries. The tour of 2014-15 stands as his best outing in Australia during which he scored 692 runs at 86.50. It was the same tour when Kohli was elevated to India’s Test captain after MS Dhoni’s sudden retirement from the format.
Meanwhile, the poster set social media ablaze, garnering reactions from the Indian fans. Here’s how they reacted.

Australia Tour – make or break opportunity for Kohli
The upcoming Test series against Australia will likely decide his Test future. As per reports, the BCCI will take some harsh steps if he, as well as Rohit Sharma, fail to deliver with the bat in the 5-match series, starting November 22 in Perth.
Kohli has been struggling with the bat in the longest format lately. Kohli managed just 93 runs in the series against New Zealand, where India suffered a humiliating 0-3 loss against New Zealand, averaging just 15.50, his worst in a home contest in seven years.
