The Kentucky Wildcats went to Ole Miss and came away with a program-shifting victory over the fifth-ranked Rebels.
Just a few weeks after losing to the No. 1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs by one point, the Cats showed they’re for real by winning in Oxford against a legitimate College Football Playoff contender.
Kentucky took a 17-13 deficit into the fourth quarter and then scored the lone points of the final period. Georgia transfer quarterback Brock Vandagriff ended with 243 yards and a touchdown. Starting running back Demie Sumo-Karngbaye ended with 11 carries for 47 yards.
Wide receiver Dane Key was the show’s star, ending with 105 yards and eight receptions.
It was a dynamic win, so much so that former basketball head coach Rick Pitino gave the football Cats a shoutout on Twitter!
Good vibes all around. Let’s hope for plenty more of this for the rest of the season!
