NIAGARA, Wis. — Richard Wayne “Rick” Smith, 78, of Niagara passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson.
He was born in Libertyville, Ill., on July 27, 1946, son of the late Ralph and Anita (Betz) Smith. Rick attended Mundelein High School.
A Rick-of-all-trades but master of none, he worked several various odd jobs over the years but particularly enjoyed his time as the owner/operator of Superior Pizza, Beecher Pub, and as an independent electrician.
He was an avid outdoorsman and passionate fan of the Packers and of the local races. Most of all, Rick will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
Rick will be deeply missed by his wife, Barabara; three children, Brenda Smith, Holly Schaal, and Robert (Lisa) Smith; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Diane (Mark) Steahl and Terry (Cynthia) Smith; best friend, Bunny Rouse; and many other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by two sisters, Karen (Mick) Marcel and Cheryl Smith.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
