PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) – A windows and doors manufacturing company is holding a ribbon cutting Tuesday morning in Phenix City.
Sierra Pacific Windows’ new location includes 610,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space and is located on 113 acres at 300 Colin Powell Parkway.
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey is among many officials present at the ribbon cutting.
The added space will allow Sierra Pacific Windows to increase its production capacity and more efficiently respond to nationwide customer demand for its wood and vinyl products that has grown ten-fold in the last decade. Products manufactured will mirror what is produced at the company’s existing California and Wisconsin locations.
The types of jobs the company plans to create include technicians, managers, engineers, machine operators, maintenance, among others. When fully operational, the need for employees will reach into the hundreds for job opportunities.
The company credits local municipal and elected officials as being instrumental in drawing their attention to the area.
