The New York Yankees are looking to move one of their starting rotation members.
New York is shopping right-hander Marcus Stroman in an attempt to shed his $18-million salary, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.
Stroman appears to be the odd man out after the Yankees added Max Fried this offseason. The New York native posted his highest ERA (4.31) in six years while also logging a career-high walk rate in a subpar 2024 season.
Stroman, 33, fell out of favor with the Yankees in the postseason, making zero appearances during their run to the World Series.
The hurler owns a 3.72 ERA in 1,458 1/3 innings across his 10-year career, which has included stints with the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, and the Yankees.
