Madaket Road, runner up to Coal Battle in Sunday’s Grade 2 Rebel Stakes, was scheduled to ship back to California on Tuesday for trainer Bob Baffert.
Mary Rampellini Daily Racing Form reported that his next start has not been determined.
Madaket Road has 31 qualifying points for Kentucky Derby 2025, putting him at no. 5 on the leaderboard. He earned 25 points Sunday and six for his third-place effort in the Robert B. Lewis (G3).
Sandman, who rallied to finish third in the Rebel, will be pointed to the 1 1/8-mile Arkansas Derby (G1) at Oaklawn on March 29, according to the report.
Trainer Mark Casse said he will look for the Tapit colt to improve with more ground.
Sandman is no. 6 on the Kentucky Derby leaderboard after picking up 15 points Sunday. He got additional points with a runner-up effort in the Southwest (G3), a third in the Street Sense and a fourth in the Iroquois (G3) last fall.
