The G League’s OKC Blue collected a 102-92 win over the Austin Spurs on Saturday. The road victory improved OKC’s record to 3-3 on the season.
The Blue had a hot start right out of the gates. They held a 28-17 lead after the first quarter. The Spurs scored 28 points in the second frame to cut into OKC’s lead. The Blue entered halftime with a 51-45 advantage.
Both teams exchanged baskets in the third quarter. The Blue entered the fourth frame with a 77-72 advantage. Austin chipped away at the scoreboard until Sidy Cissoko made a 3-pointer to make it an 85-84 contest. Then OKC went on a 10-2 run to balloon a nine-point lead with three minutes left.
The Spurs got as close as three points but couldn’t flip the scoreboard. The Blue escaped with a close win thanks to a 25-point fourth quarter.
The Blue shot 36% from the field and went 5-of-30 (16.7%) from 3. They shot 19-of-20 from the free-throw line. They had eight assists on 33 baskets. Four Blue players scored double-digit points.
Meanwhile, the Spurs shot 36% from the field and went 11-of-48 (22.9%) from 3. They shot 12-of-17 from the free-throw line. They had 15 assists on 30 baskets. Five Spurs players scored double-digit points.
