We’re one week out from 2025 NFL free agency. Teams can begin to negotiate with players at noon ET on Monday, and the free agency window officially opens at 4 p.m. ET on March 12. Who are the best players on the open market?
I ranked the top 100 free agents, factoring in age, positional value, expected future production, scheme versatility and buzz around the league. This list is only unrestricted free agents; restricted and exclusive free agents — for whom the original teams have the right of first refusal — are not included. And the pool might continue to change, even though the franchise tag deadline passed Tuesday. Players can still re-sign with their current teams before free agency, so some of these names won’t end up being available. And on the flip side, teams will make cuts over the next few days, adding more contributors to the list.
After Tee Higgins and Trey Smith received tags, who is the top player in the class? How do the quarterbacks stack up? And which positions run deepest? Let’s dive in and look at the best available players from 1 to 100. (Note: We will update this list Monday ahead of the legal negotiation window.)
Jump to the top-ranked:
QB | RB | WR | TE | OT | IOL
Edge | DT | LB | CB | S
2024 team: Baltimore Ravens | Age entering 2025 season: 31
At 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, Stanley can use his long frame to build a wall on the edge. He played the entire regular season, answering questions about his durability, and has the high-end tape to get paid. Stanley tied for 11th among offensive tackles with a 92.5% pass block win rate in 2024.
2024 team: New York Jets | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Reed is a highly competitive coverage corner with press-man traits and the transition speed to break on the throw. More of a ball disruptor than playmaker, he has 40 pass breakups — compared with six interceptions — over his career. Reed should be viewed as a scheme-versatile corner who should get paid well this month.
2024 team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Age entering 2025 season: 29
Godwin suffered a season-ending left ankle injury in Week 7, but there’s no denying his production level. His 50 receptions over the first seven games were the most in the NFL to that point, and he caught 30 of them out of the slot. A savvy route runner with the toughness to work the heavy-traffic areas of the field, Godwin has the veteran traits to upgrade any wide receiver room.
2024 team: Minnesota Vikings | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Darnold had a bounce-back year under Kevin O’Connell in Minnesota, as his 4,319 passing yards and 35 touchdown throws both ranked fifth in the league. His decision-making late in the down is still questionable, and he had a 14.8 QBR over the Vikings’ two losses to end the season. But with his arm strength and mobility, Darnold will have options on the market given the need for the position across the league.

Darnold or McCarthy? Schefter details Vikings’ QB decision
Adam Schefter joins Pat McAfee to discuss how the free agency market is affecting the Vikings’ quarterback decision of Sam Darnold or J.J. McCarthy.
2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 28
A productive rusher in Vic Fangio’s front in Philadelphia, Sweat had eight sacks and 33 pressures last season. He’s a long, angular mover who can win with speed-to-power, and he has built-in counters to disengage from offensive tackles. Given his age, positional value and ability to hit the quarterback, Sweat makes our top 10.
2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 26
Williams has the strength to displace blockers at the point of attack, with the light feet and short-area burst to slip interior offensive linemen as a pass rusher. He had five sacks and 18 pressures in 2024 with the Eagles. The arrow is pointing up.
2024 team: Los Angeles Chargers | Age entering 2025 season: 34
Mack’s game has aged gracefully after 11 pro seasons. He had six sacks and 41 pressures last season, and he can heat up the pocket. With 107.5 career sacks and steady play speed, Mack is still a three-down force based on the tape.
2024 team: San Francisco 49ers | Age entering 2025 season: 29
Ward has the man coverage ability to press or pedal off the ball, along with the backfield vision to make plays in zone. He posted career-best numbers in 2023, with five interceptions and 14 pass breakups. Although he didn’t have the same on-the-ball production last season — zero picks and five pass breakups in 12 games played — Ward’s experience and technique could upgrade any secondary.
2024 team: Miami Dolphins | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Holland has the multidimensional traits pro coaches look for at safety. He can play from depth, cover in the slot or mix it up as a box defender. The splash plays were missing from Holland’s tape last season, as he failed to record an interception. But he does have 5 interceptions, 16 pass breakups, 5 forced fumbles and 5 sacks over his four years with Miami.
2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Baun had a breakout season in Philadelphia under Vic Fangio, recording 150 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles and 1 interception. He is a versatile off-ball linebacker with three-down ability, and he can set an edge due to his physical style. Baun should cash in after signing a one-year deal with the Eagles last offseason.
2024 team: Las Vegas Raiders | Age entering 2025 season: 26
An ascending player, Moehrig notched five interceptions and 12 pass breakups over the past two seasons. He had five tackles for loss in 2024. He has the range to play from depth, and he is a tone-setter on contact when he spins down into the front.
2024 team: Minnesota Vikings | Age entering 2025 season: 29
At 6-6 and 335 pounds, Robinson has the ideal size, length and traits for the tackle position. Technical lapses have prevented him from playing at a consistent level, and his 88.2% pass block win rate last season was below average. But with the ability to engulf rushers at the point of attack and the foot speed to redirect, Robinson has the desired tools.
2024 team: San Francisco 49ers | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Greenlaw played in only two games last season (Weeks 15-16) after tearing an Achilles in Super Bowl LVIII. At full strength — which he is expected to be in 2025 — he has the traits to make an impact in any defensive scheme as an off-ball defender. Greenlaw is a rangy linebacker with the pursuit speed to track ball carriers and the coverage awareness to close throwing windows. He had back-to-back seasons of 120-plus tackles in 2022-23, and he added 1.5 sacks in 2023.
2024 team: New York Jets | Age entering 2025 season: 30
At 6-1 and 240 pounds, Reddick is a scheme-specific pass rusher with a quick first step and the ability to bend on the edge. After being traded to the Jets and holding out to start the season, Reddick had one sack and 15 pressures in 10 games. However, he has a history of impact plays, with 59 sacks and 18 forced fumbles over his career. And before last season, he put together three straight campaigns with a pass rush win rate over 20%.
2024 team: Indianapolis Colts | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Before a right tibia injury ended his season in Week 5, Fries had posted career bests in pass block win rate (92.4%) and run block win rate (74.3%). He might lack high-end traits, but the tape tells us he can upgrade the interior of an offensive front. He has a fundamentally sound play style, the lower body mobility to handle power rushers and an ability to sustain blocks on contact.
2024 team: Minnesota Vikings | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Murphy’s six interceptions last season tied for the third most in the league, and he has 14 over his six-year career. With the ability to play on the perimeter or in the slot (259 snaps in 2024), Murphy has the backfield vision and short-area speed to close on the ball.
2024 team: San Francisco 49ers | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Injuries have limited Hufanga to 17 games over the past two seasons. However, the former All-Pro is a natural disruptor when he’s healthy. In 49 career games, Hufanga has 7 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles and 1 defensive touchdown. He is at his best in a defined coverage scheme that allows him to play in split-field alignments and spin down to roam the front.
2024 team: New York Jets | Age entering 2025 season: 32
With the ability to beat press coverage and create separation to the ball, Adams is still a reliable receiver who can help a contending team immediately. In 2024 — with both the Raiders and Jets — Adams had 85 receptions for 1,063 yards, and he now has 103 touchdowns over his career.
2024 team: Detroit Lions | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Davis started 13 games for the Lions before a broken jaw landed him on injured reserve. The veteran corner has man and zone traits, which will give him options on the market; plus, he is a willing tackler on the edges. In seven seasons, he has 11 interceptions and 68 pass breakups. He can create on-ball disruption.
2024 team: Kansas City Chiefs | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Bolton’s demeanor and quick play recognition fit well in Kansas City, where he has averaged eight tackles per game over four seasons. He’s a downhill thumper against the run, with 11 tackles for loss last season. In coverage, Bolton lacks elite second-level range, but he can get to depth in zone looks or match up inside. He has four career interceptions.
2024 team: Buffalo Bills | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Douglas is a physical corner with the length to disrupt the ball and the willingness to set an edge against the run (five tackles for loss last season). He’s an easy fit in a zone system that allows him to reroute underneath and attack the ball from the outside third of the field. Douglas returned one of his five interceptions for a touchdown in 2023, and he had five pass breakups this past season.
2024 team: Houston Texans | Age entering 2025 season: 31
An ACL injury limited Diggs to eight games last season, which is why he’s lower on this list. His play speed is also starting to slip. However, Diggs is a quality route runner who, once heathy and cleared to play next season, can create separation and produce after the catch. Diggs had 47 receptions for 496 yards last season, and he has 70 touchdowns over his 10 years in the NFL.
2024 team: Atlanta Falcons | Age entering 2025 season: 26
Dalman, who had an ankle injury, played in nine games for Atlanta last season. He wins his assignments with movement and leverage to offset a smaller frame (6-3, 300 pounds). Dalman is a technician on the tape, best suited for the zone run game, and his pass block win rate of 95.1% ranked ninth among centers with at least 500 snaps.
2024 team: Las Vegas Raiders | Age entering 2025 season: 27
A knee injury in early September erased Koonce’s 2024 season before it even started. But he posted eight sacks and 29 pressures in 2023. If the knee checks out, Koonce should be viewed as a three-down defensive end with the pass-rush juice to disrupt the pocket.
2024 team: Minnesota Vikings | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Bynum is a glider over the top who can also fill alleys against the run. He saw his value rise in Brian Flores’ defensive system in Minnesota. Over the past two seasons, he has 233 tackles, 5 interceptions and 12 pass breakups. He’s an interchangeable safety who can produce in multiple systems.
2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 26
The 2020 first-round offensive tackle bumped inside to guard last season after signing a one-year contract with the Eagles. Becton uses his massive 6-7, 363-pound frame to overwhelm and move defenders in the run game. He has the physical tools and footwork to also win as a pass protector. Just entering his prime years, he should see interest as a guard or tackle.
2024 team: Buffalo Bills | Age entering 2025 season: 31
Cooper’s tape is beginning to show signs of decline, but he is still a detailed route runner who can uncover at multiple levels of the field. In 14 games with the Browns and Bills last season, Cooper caught 44 passes for 547 yards and four touchdowns. In nine full seasons, he has topped the 1,000-yard receiving mark seven times and caught 64 career touchdown passes.
2024 team: Los Angeles Chargers | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Samuel has a playmaking mentality at cornerback, with the foot quickness and sudden closing speed to break on the ball. A shoulder injury limited Samuel to four games last season, but he has six interceptions and 26 pass breakups in his four years with the Chargers.
2024 team: Pittsburgh Steelers | Age entering 2025 season: 26
In six starts with the Steelers, Fields displayed improved footwork and vision in the pocket, completing 66.3% of his throws with five touchdown passes and one interception. He also rushed for 289 yards and five more scores on 62 carries. If Fields lands in a system that maximizes his dual-threat traits, he could be viewed as a lower-level starter.

Russell Wilson or Justin Fields: Which QB is the Steelers’ future?
Jeff Saturday, Domonique Foxworth and Dan Graziano discuss which quarterback the Steelers should re-sign to create stability for the organization.
2024 team: Minnesota Vikings | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Jones is a slasher in the run game and has the dual-threat traits to catch the ball out of the backfield, with 51 receptions and 1,546 total yards for the Vikings in 2024. He is at his best in a zone run scheme that highlights his receiving skills.
2024 team: Cincinnati Bengals | Age entering 2025 season: 31
A slot corner who plays with a sense of urgency, Hilton had 12 tackles for loss and eight pressures last season. He has a natural feel for playing in space as a coverage defender with the aggressive mentality to tackle and blitz on the edges. In eight seasons, Hilton has 13 interceptions, 11.5 sacks and 34 pass breakups.
2024 team: Detroit Lions | Age entering 2025 season: 35
Zeitler is a physical inside presence with the power to displace defensive tackles and the movement ability to pull on gap schemes. He routinely wins in pass protection, using his strong base to hold off interior rushers. Zeitler had a pass block win rate of 94.4% with Detroit last season, his 13th year in the league.
2024 team: New York Giants | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Slayton caught 39 passes and averaged 14.2 yards per reception in 2024 despite subpar QB play. He’s a vertical stretch target on the perimeter who can also work the in-breaking cuts in the route tree. And he has ability to make explosive plays, with 58 receptions of 20 or more yards over his six seasons with the Giants.
2024 team: New Orleans Saints | Age entering 2025 season: 26
Adebo would be in our top 20 if he hadn’t suffered a broken femur in Week 7. He has the frame and traits to play press coverage, plus he can open and run when matching vertically on the perimeter. In four seasons with the Saints, Adebo has 10 interceptions and 23 pass breakups.
2024 team: New York Jets | Age entering 2025 season: 25
The tape is trending up on Sherwood after he posted 154 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 3 pass breakups with the Jets last season. Sherwood can play downhill with speed, cutting off the ball and pursuing the edges. And I see coverage upside here, too. Sherwood is a three-down player with special teams coverage ability, and his best football is ahead of him.
2024 team: Indianapolis Colts | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Odeyingbo has played all 17 games in each of his past three seasons, racking up 16 sacks and 21 total tackles for loss over that stretch. At 6-6 and 286 pounds, he has the physical tools that teams look for on the edge, and he can kick inside to rush the passer out of loaded or schemed fronts.
2024 team: Pittsburgh Steelers | Age entering 2025 season: 27
A torn Achilles suffered in Week 4 pushed Daniels down our ranks. But he provides run-blocking upside when healthy. From Weeks 1 to 4, Daniels’ run block win rate of 82.7% ranked second among guards behind only the Colts’ Quenton Nelson. And over three seasons with the Steelers, Daniels had a pass block win rate of 93.1%.
2024 team: New Orleans Saints | Age entering 2025 season: 26
Young notched 5.5 sacks with the Saints, and his 46 pressures tied for the 11th most in the league. The No. 2 pick in the 2020 draft is still in his prime years and can add depth to a defensive line room.
2024 team: San Francisco 49ers | Age entering 2025 season: 28
An MCL injury ended Banks’ season in Week 13. At 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds, the 2021 second-round pick is built for a gap run scheme, and he has the strength to anchor against interior bull rushers. His 69.0% run block win rate last season ranked 46th among guards.
2024 team: Chicago Bears | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Jenkins’ extensive injury history forced him down the rankings, as he has played in only 38 of a possible 68 career games. Drafted as a tackle, Jenkins has the tools to drive defenders off the ball in the run game. But he tends to be more segmented as a mover in pass protection.
2024 team: Pittsburgh Steelers | Age entering 2025 season: 36
In 11 starts for the Steelers, Wilson completed 63.7% of his throws for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns, registering a QBR of 51.4 (22nd). He can still throw with pace and touch downfield, and he would benefit from a system that’s heavy in play-action. But with his reduced mobility, Wilson isn’t a creator outside of structure at this stage of his career.
2024 team: Kansas City Chiefs | Age entering 2025 season: 28
A veteran presence in the secondary, Reid can drop the hammer as a downhill tackler. He fits in today’s split-safety coverage schemes, too, because of his vision and field awareness. In three years with the Chiefs, Reid has 261 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 interceptions and 14 pass breakups.
2024 team: Indianapolis Colts | Age entering 2025 season: 32
Injuries limited Kelly to 10 games last season with the Colts. An on-the-field leader with excellent football awareness, Kelly had a pass block win rate of 95.9% (sixth best among centers) and didn’t allow a sack. Plus, he plays with a physical demeanor to constantly win in the run game.
2024 team: Seattle Seahawks | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Jones — who landed in Seattle after a midseason trade from the Titans — is quick to diagnose and stop the run, as his 8.6 tackles per game ranked 12th in the NFL. Although Jones’ tape is missing impact plays, he’s a steady second-level defender with the field awareness to track the ball and hit.
2024 team: Los Angeles Chargers | Age entering 2025 season: 26
After tearing an Achilles in Week 1 of 2023, Dobbins looked explosive on the tape throughout last season, though he missed four games because of a knee sprain. Dobbins, who had 27 carries of 10 or more yards, finished 2024 with 907 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He can run between the tackles, and he has the juice to create big plays.
2024 team: New Orleans Saints | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Johnson posted the best numbers of his career in 2024, catching 50 of 65 targets for 548 yards and three touchdowns. He can work the interior seams with his 6-4 frame, and he gets loose on underneath throws (38.7% of his yardage last season came after the catch).
2024 team: Chicago Bears | Age entering 2025 season: 33
Allen caught 70 passes in Chicago, with seven touchdowns. He isn’t as dynamic of a mover at this late stage of his career, but the veteran is a crafty route runner who can make himself available to the quarterback. He fits as a chain-moving No. 3 receiver, which is the role he played for the Bears last season.
2024 team: Pittsburgh Steelers | Age entering 2025 season: 27
A volume grinder, Harris averaged 15.5 carries per game for Pittsburgh in 2024, topping the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the fourth straight year. Though Harris isn’t a sudden mover with perimeter speed, he can handle downhill volume as an early-down runner and catch the ball out of the backfield on underneath throws.
2024 team: Pittsburgh Steelers | Age entering 2025 season: 26
Moore’s 92.5% pass block win rate ranked 11th among tackles last season. He allowed 13 sacks, however, which tied for seventh most in the league. He struggled late in the season — technique issues popped up on the tape. At a premium position — with 66 starts over four NFL seasons — he will have a market, though.
2024 team: Las Vegas Raiders | Age entering 2025 season: 26
A slot corner with the ability to play outside, Hobbs has the quickness and tackling ability needed to play inside the numbers. In four seasons, he has 3 interceptions, 13 pass breakups and 14 tackles for loss. He can be an upgrade for a team in search of a nickel defender in sub packages.
2024 team: Kansas City Chiefs | Age entering 2025 season: 27
With the power to hold the point and push the pocket, Wharton had his best numbers in 2024, posting 6.5 sacks and 22 pressures. He added two more sacks in the postseason, and his play strength jumps on the tape. He can shed blockers to find the ball.
2024 team: Dallas Cowboys | Age entering 2025 season: 33
Lawrence played in just four games last season due to a Lisfranc injury. If healthy and cleared to go, expect him to have a market this offseason. With his blend of power and speed, Lawrence has 61.5 sacks and 21 forced fumbles during his career. He could boost the pass rush for a contender.
2024 team: Kansas City Chiefs | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Look for Brown to draw interest on the market due to his third-level speed. A shoulder injury limited him to just five games, including the playoffs, last season. But over his six pro seasons, Brown has 322 receptions and 28 touchdowns. He can stretch defenses and create explosive plays after the catch.
2024 team: Green Bay Packers | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Myers has missed just one game over the past three seasons. He had a pass block win rate of 93.5% last season, which ranked 20th among starting centers. He’s a steady and solid pro, with the ability to operate in both zone and gap run schemes. For teams in need of a center, Myers would be an upgrade.
2024 team: Dallas Cowboys | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Dowdle has the lateral speed to get through tight quarters as a runner, and I see the short-area acceleration to hit daylight on tape. Last season, he rushed for 1,079 yards while adding 249 yards receiving on 39 receptions. He fits as a rotational player for a club looking to add a veteran back.
2024 team: Washington Commanders | Age entering 2025 season: 34
Ertz’s speed is declining, but he has the coverage awareness and route-running ability to get loose underneath or work the seams. Ertz caught 66 passes for 654 yards and seven touchdowns last season, and he had 18 receptions in Washington’s postseason run to the NFC title game.
2024 team: Los Angeles Chargers | Age entering 2025 season: 29
An undersized nose/tackle, Ford has the lower body quickness to penetrate interior gaps. His game speed shows up when he tracks the ball on pursuit plays. He had three sacks last season, and he has 32 career tackles for loss. Ford can bring some juice to a defensive line rotation.
2024 team: Jacksonville Jaguars | Age entering 2025 season: 33
Scherff’s game should age gracefully given his movement skills and the ability to displace defenders at the point of attack. The 2015 top-five pick had a pass block win rate of 93.8% last year, which ranked 14th among guards and was the second highest of his 10 NFL seasons. Scherff can help a team in a need of a quality starter on the interior.
2024 team: Cincinnati Bengals | Age entering 2025 season: 25
At 6-4, Ossai has length and speed off the edge — and he is just entering his prime. He had 5.5 sacks and 23 pressures last season, and he can rush from inside alignments to give defenses more matchup ability on third downs.
2024 team: Washington Commanders | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Brown’s late-season surge should bump up his value on the market. During the Commanders’ postseason run, he caught 14 of 18 targets for 229 yards and a score, averaging 16.4 yards per reception. He has big-play juice on verticals and deep crossers.
2024 team: Detroit Lions | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Onwuzurike played in 16 games last season after injuries limited him to 10 in 2023 and he missed the entire 2022 season (spinal fusion). He had only 1.5 sacks last season, but flashed his ability to attack the interior gaps with 21 QB pressures. With his upper body power, Onwuzurike fits best as a 3-technique tackle in a 4-3 front.
2024 team: Los Angeles Chargers | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Fulton lacks high-end recovery speed, and he’s not a pattern matcher in coverage. But he fits a zone-coverage team looking for a perimeter corner because of his field vision and ability to break top-down on the ball. Plus, he will tackle on the edge. In five NFL seasons, Fulton has five interceptions and 27 pass breakups.
2024 team: Cincinnati Bengals | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Hill fits best in an attacking, one-gap front, which allows him to penetrate and find the ball. He is a good mover at 311 pounds, and he can shed blockers to pursue down the line of scrimmage. He had three sacks last season, bringing his career total to 23.5.
2024 team: Dallas Cowboys | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Lewis can add to a secondary in need of a veteran slot corner because of his man- and zone-coverage skills. He can patrol the edges as an overhang defender with his short-area burst to cut off the ball. In eight seasons with the Cowboys, he has 10 interceptions and 27 pass breakups.
2024 team: Seattle Seahawks | Age entering 2025 season: 32
A nine-year veteran, Reed can still push the pocket and create sack production from the tackle position. He had 11.5 sacks over the past two seasons and has 38.5 in his career. He can add to a defensive line rotation for teams in need.
2024 team: New York Giants | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Injuries have limited Ojulari to 29 games over the past three seasons, but he has the length (34.5-inch arms) and burst to run the arc as a pass rusher. In 11 games last season, he had six sacks and 16 QB pressures. When healthy, he’s a 3-4 outside linebacker who can be a rotational edge in sub packages.
2024 team: Jacksonville Jaguars | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Cisco has the range and ball skills to patrol the deep areas of the field. He had just one interception in 2024, but he had seven over his previous two seasons. Cisco fits in both single-high and split-safety schemes.
2024 team: Tennessee Titans | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Joseph-Day played in all 17 games last season, totaling 44 tackles and 2.5 sacks. At this stage of his career, he can add depth to a line rotation because of his ability to play in multiple alignments. He has 13.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss over his six-year career.
2024 team: Miami Dolphins | Age entering 2025 season: 39
Campbell has played in 261 regular-season NFL games, and he’s still setting edges and hitting the quarterback with his 6-8 frame. He has at least five sacks in each of the past three seasons, and he can play in multiple fronts due to his size and strength. Campbell would also add a veteran presence to a locker room.
2024 team: Baltimore Ravens | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Mekari’s 94.6% pass block win rate ranked fifth among guards last season, and he allowed just three sacks. Plus, he brings positional versatility — he played some tackle during his time in Baltimore. There’s an old-school feel to his game.
2024 team: Washington Commanders | Age entering 2025 season: 31
Fowler made the most of his one-year deal with Washington, racking up 10.5 sacks, his highest total since 2019. He also added 29 pressures and should be viewed as a pass-rushing outside linebacker who can be schemed to get both edge and interior one-on-ones.
2024 team: Denver Broncos | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Jones doesn’t produce high-end pass-rush numbers — he has 12 sacks over eight pro seasons. However, his run stop win rate of 45.4% ranked third among defensive lineman last season. He is a fit for multiple fronts, and he would rank higher if his overall play, including gap discipline, were more consistent.
2024 team: Dallas Cowboys | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Golston played a career-high 747 snaps last season, posting 56 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He fits best as an edge setter in a 4-3 front, with the ability to create pass-rush matchups from interior alignments in sub packages. He played mostly in a part-time role from 2021 to 2023.
2024 team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Age entering 2025 season: 35
The 13-year pro averaged 7.2 tackles per game last season, adding 5.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Though David’s game speed is declining, his play style puts him in a position to track the ball and make stops. He can still get it done.
2024 team: Seattle Seahawks | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Jones was released in early March after signing a three-year contract with Seattle in 2023. Over two seasons with the Seahawks, Jones had 8.5 sacks and 53 pressures. He can be displaced in the run game at 281 pounds, but he brings inside/outside alignment flexibility and the first-step quickness to disrupt the pocket.
2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 34
Slay’s age must be taken into account, but he still has the transition speed to drive on the ball, and he is a natural pattern matcher in coverage. Slay failed to record an interception in 2024, but he has 28 career picks and 112 pass breakups over 12 pro seasons. He’s a late addition to the free agent pool after the Eagles released him in early March.

Would Darius Slay be a good fit for the Lions?
“The Pat McAfee Show” crew reacts to news of Darius Slay Jr. being cut from the Eagles and discusses whether a return to the Lions would be a good fit for both sides.
2024 team: Cincinnati Bengals | Age entering 2025 season: 29
Gesicki, a seam-stretcher who can uncover at multiple levels of the field, caught 65 passes from 655 yards and two scores last season. Teams will look to sign Gesicki because of his pass-catching skills and alignment flexibility, though he still struggles as a run blocker.
2024 team: Atlanta Falcons | Age entering 2025 season: 33
Judon had 15.5 sacks in 2022, but the tape shows a player who is starting to decline. He had 5.5 sacks last season, his first year with Atlanta. He’s a savvy pass rusher with counters and the occasional speed-to-power rush, but he’s not likely to be an every-down player in 2025.
2024 team: Indianapolis Colts | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Speed’s 9.5 tackles per game ranked fourth in the NFL last season, and he also had seven tackles for loss. He can clean up from the weak side, using his downhill quickness to create angles to the ball. Plus, he has played in at least 15 games for five straight seasons. He’s an accountable pro.
2024 team: Cleveland Browns | Age entering 2025 season: 26
Injuries have impacted Wills’ development, as he has played in 13 games over the past two seasons. He was also benched in 2024 for sitting out a game because of a “business decision.” But the 2020 top-10 pick has a career pass block win rate of 92.0% — which is above league average — and he could be viewed as a reclamation project, given his lower body quickness and movement ability.
2024 team: Washington Commanders | Age entering 2025 season: 27
At 6-3 and 220 pounds, Chinn has the versatility to play from depth or drop down as an overhang/dime defensive back in sub packages. He had 107 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 interception last season.
2024 team: Houston Texans | Age entering 2025 season: 29
Johnson’s 2024 season went off the rails after he was traded from the Panthers, which led to disappointing stops with the Ravens and Texans. When dialed in, however, he has inside/outside flexibility with the speed to separate against press coverage. He can also tack on numbers after the catch. With Pittsburgh in 2023, he had 51 catches for 717 yards and five touchdowns. (He had 33 catches for 375 yards and three TDs in 2024.)
2024 team: Tennessee Titans | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Westbrook-Ikhine had just 32 receptions last season, but he finished with nine touchdowns and averaged 15.5 yards per catch. He has buildup speed on the perimeter and can be schemed on third-level throws. A willing blocker, Westbrook-Ikhine also brings special-teams production as a gunner.
2024 team: Atlanta Falcons | Age entering 2025 season: 31
Simmons, an excellent communicator in the secondary, had two interceptions last season, and he has 32 in his career. I see his best fit as a veteran addition for a split-safety defense.
2024 team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Nelson has played in 16 or more games in five straight seasons. With a 6-7 frame, he could see his numbers climb with a move to a 4-3 front, which would allow him to attack edges and rush the passer. He had four sacks last season.
2024 team: Las Vegas Raiders | Age entering 2025 season: 29
Spillane had 158 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions last season. He diagnoses quickly from the second level to fit up the run, and his five picks over the past two seasons point to his ability to find the ball in coverage.
2024 team: Indianapolis Colts | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Blackmon had three interceptions in 2024, and he has seven over the past two seasons. There’s post and deep-half range on his tape, which fits in every system. He also has 85-plus tackles in each of the past two seasons.
2024 team: New York Jets | Age entering 2025 season: 27
The 2020 first-round pick played a career-best 645 snaps last season, racking up 4.5 sacks — all from interior alignments. Kinlaw has produced eight sacks and 28 pressures over the past two seasons. He has a rare combo of traits and size at 6-5, 319 pounds.
2024 team: Cleveland Browns | Age entering 2025 season: 31
Winston should be graded as a high-level No. 2. He started seven games last season, putting up a QBR of 55.6 (19th in the league) while throwing 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Winston has the arm talent to make plays, but his decision-making leads to questionable throws.
2024 team: Arizona Cardinals | Age entering 2025 season: 26
Browning, who was traded from Denver to Arizona at midseason, can bend off the edge and has burst in tight quarters. He has just 11.5 sacks over four pro seasons, but given his age and traits, he could add pass-rush depth to a 3-4 defense.
2024 team: Arizona Cardinals | Age entering 2025 season: 29
White is an off-ball linebacker with run-and-hit traits, and he had nine tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks last season. He has the pursuit speed to track the ball on the edges, and he has six interceptions, along with 16 pass breakups, in his career. White can be a three-down player for his new team.
2024 team: Pittsburgh Steelers | Age entering 2025 season: 29
Jackson’s level of play slipped late in the season, but the veteran finished with five interceptions. He has 19 career picks. Jackson can close on the ball in a hurry, and he has the transition ability to stick in coverage.
2024 team: Kansas City Chiefs | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Omenihu played in just six regular-season games after recovering from a torn ACL in the 2023 AFC Championship Game. He’s a long edge rusher with previous production (seven sacks in 2023) and could be viewed as a boom-or-bust signing based on his traits.
2024 team: Las Vegas Raiders | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Deablo has the second-level range and coverage skills to patrol the middle of the field, and he can cut off throws to the flat with his top-down speed. His limited ball production in coverage keeps him down this list, but he can help a team looking to add speed.
2024 team: Minnesota Vikings | Age entering 2025 season: 26
A linear edge rusher, Jones had a career-high seven sacks last season. Though he benefited from the havoc that coordinator Brian Flores creates in Minnesota, his tape shows the competitive toughness and effort level that coaches want.
2024 team: Detroit Lions | Age entering 2025 season: 26
Melifonwu played in just three regular-season games because of an ankle injury he suffered in training camp. In 2023, he played in all 17 games, posting two interceptions and three sacks. He’s a 6-3 defender with positional flexibility and playmaking upside.
2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Johnson stated six games for the Eagles, playing 463 regular-season snaps. His pass block win rate (86.7%) was below average, but he can provide competition and depth at the tackle spot. With a 6-7, 326-pound frame, Johnson can use his length to overcome his limited foot quickness.
2024 team: Kansas City Chiefs | Age entering 2025 season: 33
In 10 games with the Chiefs, Hopkins caught 41 passes for 437 yards and three scores. His age and declining speed must be considered, as he most likely fits as a veteran No. 3 who can use his field awareness to work the short and intermediate levels. Since being drafted in Round 1 in 2013, Hopkins has 83 touchdowns.
2024 team: Denver Broncos | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Williams didn’t have big numbers over 10 games last season, as he averaged just 3.2 yards per carry. The tape showed he was more explosive as a mover than he had been the past few years, though. He suffered a major knee injury in 2022.
2024 team: Denver Broncos | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Barton is an inside linebacker who can diagnose the run and make stops, as he had 106 tackles last season. I don’t see high-end coverage skills on the tape, but he did have two interceptions, and he can operate as an underneath zone dropper.
During a recent episode of PFT Live, I said I was considering switching allegiances from the Vikings to the Eagles, if only
