In the absence of a live stream or TV coverage, we’ve only managed to get a short footage of Shami bowling on the first day of his comeback after nearly a year.
Shami bowled 10 overs in all across two spells (four and six) which, on the face of it, is very encouraging. He’s yet to pick up a wicket but Bengal will hope he comes into his own today if they’re to keep their hopes alive of limiting Madhya Pradesh’s first-innings total.
As things stand, MP are 103/1 in response to Bengal’s 228. Subranshu Senapati, who moved from Odisha, is batting alongside Rajat Patidar. The two have put on 52 after Shami’s younger brother, Mohammed Kaif, delivered Bengal’s first breakthrough.
