Former Nebraska coach Scott Frost is headed to the NFL. The Los Angeles Rams are hiring Frost as a senior analyst, a source tells 247Sports and CBS Sports.
It comes after Frost visited the team last week and is the first job for Frost since Nebraska fired him in 2022.
Frost told CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd in April that he was eager to resume coaching.
“For the first time in my life, I don’t know what’s next,” he said at the time. “I’m dying to get back in.”
In five seasons as the Huskers’ coach, Frost compiled a 16-31 overall record, including a 1-2 mark to begin the 2022 season prior to being fired.
Before Nebraska, Frost was the UCF coach for two years and led the Knights to a 13-0 record during his second season at the helm in 2017.
Following the season, he was named the AP Coach of the Year.
Prior to becoming a program leader, Frost was the offensive coordinator at Oregon from 2013-15.
“I know this, there’s some good coaches out there,” Frost told Dodd in April. “I’m a good coach. I belong doing it. I just don’t know for sure where that’s going to be right now. If the right head coach job comes along, I’d take it. If the right coordinator job comes, I’d take it.”
Ultimately, his return to coaching now comes in the NFL with Sean McVay and the Rams.
