BCCI vice president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Shukla met with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar alongside star India batter Virat Kohli in the national capital.
Shukla shared details of the meeting on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
“Lovely to meet honourable Vice President of India Shri Dhankar ji. Glad to have the company of @imVkohli.”
The meeting reportedly took place before Delhi’s Ranji Trophy Elite Group D match against Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday.
This match marked Kohli’s return to domestic cricket after a 12-year gap. His last Ranji Trophy appearance for Delhi was against Uttar Pradesh in Ghaziabad in November 2012.
Kohli’s participation in the match followed BCCI’s policy encouraging Indian players to participate in domestic cricket when available.
The match drew record attendance at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Security measures included police personnel stationed near the boundary ropes of North and West stands.
During the 12th over, an enthusiastic fan breached security from the North Stand to touch Kohli’s feet.
