DAYTON — The Wright State golf team and head coach Conner Lash announced the 2024 fall schedule on Monday, a slate that includes a pair of tournaments in Ohio as part of its four-tournament tune-up for the spring championship season.
The Raiders will begin the fall in Pawleys Island, South Carolina for the Golfweek Fall Challenge, competing in the tournament for the third straight fall. The Raiders finished fifth among 14 teams last fall, with Mikkel Mathiesen and Shane Ochs leading the way individually as both finished six-under in a tie for 18th.
Wright State will travel north to Rochester, Michigan for the Golden Grizzlies Classic September 14 and 15, competing against the Horizon League foe for the first time in the fall. The Raiders then head back to Nashport, Ohio for the Virtues Intercollegiate September 28 and 29 after a sixth-place finish in their opening visit. The fall wraps up back at home, October 21 and 22 at NCR Country Club and the Dayton Flyer Invitational. Wright State has finished third as a group the last two falls.
Wright State captured its eighth Horizon League Championship this spring, the second-most all-time in the Horizon, while the Raiders have now won three team championships in the last five seasons. The Raiders had seven top-five finishes in 13 total tournaments this season spanning the fall and spring schedule, highlighted by the back-to-back-to-back team titles at The Jewell, Wright State Invitational and Horizon League Championship in April, and also saw four individual champions dot the tournament results as well.
