DAYTON — The Wright State golf team announced its 2025 spring schedule on Tuesday, a slate that features six tournaments, including the Wright State Invitational, ahead of the Horizon League Championship in late April.
The Raiders begin the spring in mid-February when they travel to compete in the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, hosted by the University of Houston on February 17 and 18. Wright State will then open March in Florida at the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate, hosted by Stetson March 3 and 4 before playing in a pair of familiar settings, traveling to St. Simons Island, Georgia for the Peoples Golf Championship, presented by Sea Palms Resort, hosted by Western Carolina, March 13-15 and then to Wilmington, North Carolina for the UNC Wilmington-hosted Seahawk Intercollegiate March 24 and 25.
The Raiders close the regular season with a pair of tournaments closer to home, first at The Jewell hosted by Northern Kentucky on April 7 and 8 at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio before they play host to the Wright State Invitational at Heatherwoode Golf Club April 13-14. The Raiders have won the last four team titles and had the last four individual winners while serving as hosts of the event. Wright State travels to Florida for the 2025 Horizon League Championship April 19-21 at Mission Inn Resort.
Wright State captured its eighth Horizon League Championship last spring, the second-most all-time in the Horizon, while the Raiders have won three team championships in the last five seasons. The Raiders had seven top-five finishes in 13 total tournaments last season spanning the fall and spring schedule, highlighted by the back-to-back-to-back team titles at The Jewell, Wright State Invitational and Horizon League Championship in April, and also saw four individual champions dot the tournament results as well.
This fall, the Raiders had a trio of top five team finishes, including grabbing the team title at the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate, while they were second at the Golfweek Fall Challenge and finished tied for fourth in the shorted Virtues Intercollegiate and saw four individual champions as well.
