PRESS RELEASE — – Quantum.Tech has announced that it will be extending its reach and expanding into the Gulf region, holding an annual gathering of the global quantum community on January 13th (Quantum.Tech Cryptography & AI Spotlight) – January 14th & 15th (main conference) at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl, Doha.
Quantum.Tech, the first and original quantum event focused on the entire quantum eco-system from platforms & processors to cryptography and sensing established in the US and Europe in 2019 and is coming to Qatar in conjunction with the host, Hamad Bin Khalifa University with the official sponsor being the Ministry of Defence of the State of Qatar and country partner Invest Qatar.
Qatar is home to the Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), which focuses on advancing quantum research and education. QC2 is the first Qatar-based quantum research center dedicated to advancing theoretical and experimental research across the three quantum information science domains: quantum communication, quantum computing and quantum sensing.
Event speakers will include quantum leaders and experts from multinational organisations including JPMorgan Chase, British Telecom, HSBC, Citi Global, Rolls Royce, Deutsche Bhan, Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, Moody’s Analytics and more.
Insert quote from Dr. Saif Al-Kuwari, Director of Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) said “We are thrilled to host this landmark quantum event, bringing together global visionaries and innovators to explore the limitless potential of quantum technologies. We eagerly look forward to welcoming participants from around the world and engaging in insightful discussions that will inspire the next wave of quantum breakthroughs.”
The three-day format will begin with the Quantum Cryptography and AI Workshop Daya full day dedicated to cryptography and the challenges of keeping data secure as quantum advances with the interplay of AI, with two days of main conference sessions centred around real-world case studies and practical implication of quantum technologies across industry sectors including, Defence, Energy, Logistics, Aviation, Telecoms, Finance, Pharma and healthcare, including a focus on The Role of Government in Quantum.
Some of the key sessions include:
Qatar’s strategic investments, backed by international collaborations and local expertise, position it as a rising leader in quantum technologies within the Gulf. These efforts align with its broader vision to diversify its economy and promote technological innovation as part of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Across the Gulf region, countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia are also investing in quantum technologies, integrating them into sectors like healthcare, energy, and artificial intelligence. These initiatives aim to create a competitive regional market in quantum applications, reflecting a broader Middle Eastern trend towards high-tech innovation
“It’s been a real honour to work closely with Dr Saif Al-Kuwari, local stakeholders and international governments, industries and academics to expand the Quantum.Tech brand into Qatar – a country that is gearing up for the Quantum leap’’ said Jim Raddings, Programme Manager for Alpha Events, the conference organizer. “This event will be a platform to discuss topics such as cryptography, Quantum AI as well as learning from global industry leaders on Quantum applications across a plethora of sectors. This unique opportunity to forge and foster international collaboration and understand more about the infrastructure and eco-system which is being built in the Gulf is not one to miss’’.
