Qatar Goodwood Horse Racing Festival Concludes

London, August 03 (QNA) – The Qatar Goodwood Festival of Horse Racing 2024 concluded Saturday after five days of events at the historic Goodwood Racecourse in Britain. This marks the tenth consecutive year of exclusive Qatari sponsorship, represented by the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club.

The festival featured highly competitive races among some of the world’s most renowned horses on the famous track, which has hosted horse races for over 200 years. The final day saw several strong races, including the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes, a Group 2 race for thoroughbred fillies and mares aged three years and older, over a distance of 2,800 meters, sponsored by the Education Above All Foundation.

The mare “Term Of Endearment,” owned by Carmel Acheson, trained by Henry de Bromhead, and ridden by jockey Billy Lee, secured a well-deserved first place. “Night Sparkle” finished second, and “River of Stars” took third place. After the race, CEO of Education Above All Foundation, Fahad bin Hamad Al Sulaiti, presented the awards to the winners.

The Qatari sponsorship has significantly enhanced the status of Qatari equestrian sports in Britain and globally. The festival has become a gathering point for top stars in horse racing worldwide, turning into an international celebration of the esteemed sport. The event has seen a noticeable increase in the diversity and size of its audience, who eagerly attend each year.
