Qatar Executive, a private jet arm of Qatar Airways Group, expanded its fleet by welcoming two Gulfstream
G700 business jets in January 2025. The newest deliveries increase the carrier’s fleet to six Gulfstream G700s. The news comes as the airline aims to solidify its leadership in the luxury long-range market and private aviation.
The $75 million aircraft are some of the highest-performing planes in the private aviation space. By joining the airline’s already hefty fleet of Gulfstream aircraft, the two new G700s are set to enhance the fleet with their performance, namely unmatched range capabilities. Commenting on the news, Mark Burns, president at Gulfstream, said:
“The unprecedented speed with which the team has been able to deliver this remarkable aircraft is a true testament to the quality and maturity of the G700 program. Qatar Executive has been a long-standing, valued partner of Gulfstream for many years, and we are pleased to continue that partnership by adding more of these exceptional aircraft to their growing fleet.”
The Gulfstream G700
is a large-cabin, ultra-long-range business jet that can travel for up to 15 hours without refueling. With a maximum range of 7,750 nautical miles (14,353 kilometers), there is hardly a destination that the G700 cannot connect to.
The manufacturer reveals that in addition to its ultra-long-range capabilities, the G700, powered by two Rolls-Royce
Pearl 700 engines, can accommodate 16 passengers and reach a maximum speed of Mach 0.935 (1,145 km/h). Notably, the two new Qatar Executive Gulfstream G700s were both delivered using a blend of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The aircraft features the most spacious cabin across the Gulfstream aircraft fleet, offering up to five living areas, including an ultra galley and a grand suite with a shower. Additionally, the business jet features 20 panoramic oval windows.

Currently, the airline operates a fleet of 24 aircraft, including 15 Gulfstream G650ER aircraft, the G700 predecessors. Explaining the reasons why the G700 and G650ERs are essential in the private carrier’s fleet, Qatar Airways
Group Chief Executive Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said:
“Combining the G700 with its existing fleet of Gulfstream G650ERs, QE remains the go-to charter operator for ultra-long-range travel around the world.
“With its luxurious and spacious cabin, innovative technology, increased fuel efficiency, and long-range capabilities, the QE Gulfstream G700 is a stand out choice in private business aviation charter and has become yet another reason why so many choose to fly with QE.”
The Gulfstream G700 business jet received its US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification on March 29, 2024. Currently, the G700 is certified by the world’s biggest civil aviation regulators, including the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The G700 has also earned type certificate validations in 10 countries throughout 2024, most recently from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority in Australia (CASA).
In addition to Gulfstream G700s and G650ERs, Qatar Executive boasts a fleet of a single Airbus A319CJ narrowbody and two Bombardier Global 5000 jets.
It is worth noting that private jet operations have seen significant growth in 2024. The airline group confirmed that Qatar Executive revenues are up by over a quarter this year as the carrier responds to an increase in family and group bookings to leisure destinations like the Maldives and Seychelles.
