This system aims to improve safety and security for offshore assets, optimize vessel logistics, and reduce CO₂ emissions while enhancing maritime situational awareness. As explained by Vissim, the CVMAS integrates a range of data sources, including the Automatic Vessel Identification System (AIS), weather data, radar technology, and personnel management platforms.

This integration provides a detailed overview of maritime activity, including vessel traffic, offshore asset monitoring, and helicopter operations. The data is processed and displayed at QatarEnergy’s Joint Operations Centre in Doha, enabling effective collaboration among oil and gas operators to enhance maritime coordination and operational safety.

Scheduled to be operational in 2025, the CVMAS will offer continuous surveillance, prioritizing critical events with an alarm mechanism.
